Rights Statement

This collection features approximately 20,000 digitized films from 1903 to 2024, including home movies, amateur and industrial films, and print materials of historic significance. The collection includes films produced by US corporations, nonprofit organizations, trade groups, educational institutions, and community groups. The collection consists of 1930s films created by the Works Progress Administration documenting African American life during the Depression and during World War II, and the Newhouser Family collection documenting Black history, culture, and ceremonies from the 1930s and 1940s in the Midwest. The collection also includes interviews with Black Panther leaders.
